I'm struggling to get back on track after being hit with some shocking and heartbreaking news right at the start of
2010.
On New Year's Day, the book world lost an amazing voice and I lost one of my very best friends when
Kathleen Givens died unexpectedly from heart complications after ringing in 2010 with friends and family. I miss her desperately and have
been re-reading her books in honor. Join me, starting with the epic Scottish historical romance, KILGANNON. I'm blown
away reading it again after all these years. She was an engaging and dynamic storyteller. You can also pay tribute to Kathleen
by donating to her favorite charity, the Orange County Ronald McDonald House.
Kathleen always said "Life is short." I'm keeping that in mind as I navigate my way through the year
ahead. I try to remember to let go of the small stuff, to embrace each day as it comes, to stop and watch the sunsets, and
to let everyone know how much they mean to me. Thank you all for reading and supporting me through the years. Group hug!
Fortune
sides with she who dares, says a bracelet Kath gave me for Christmas a few years ago. Every day, I think of Kathleen, and
I dare.
Never never never give up! --Winston Churchill, oft repeated by Kathleen Givens
